Nutritional Sciences BSFCS/Nutritional Sciences MS

By studying this integrative discipline, you fulfill pre-med requirements while learning how diet and specific nutrients influence human physiology and disease. This knowledge builds a solid foundation for careers in medicine or a related health science. Having also earned a master's degree may be an advantage for those who wish to move on to professional schools such as medical, pharmacy, or dental.

Admission to Program

By the start of their junior year, students will apply to the pathway. Students will be admitted to the pathway in the spring of their junior year. We propose students will apply to the pathway via an online application along with an unofficial transcript and a signed acknowledgment that they are aware of the criteria for them to be accepted to the graduate program. We want to be sure they know that acceptance into the pathway is not a guarantee of acceptance into the graduate program.

Students must have completed CHEM 1211-1211L, CHEM 1212-1212L with grades of C or better, taken NUTR 2100, and have a 3.5 GPA for admittance to the pathway.

Curriculum

Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.

Courses which are dual-level and taken at the graduate level appropriate to the student's major can be used.

Admission to Graduate Program

At the start of their senior year, these students will apply to the Graduate program. At this time, we are asking them to take the GRE and meet the same requirements as other graduate program applicants. (GRE 300, 150V, 150Q, 3.5 A, 3.0 minimum GPA, and other requirements as outlined on our website).
