Human Development and Family Science BSFCS/Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics MS(Applied Consumer Analytics)(non-thesis)

The concentration in Applied Consumer Analytics will provide students with the analytical skills needed to transform data into practical information for use in organizational and policy decisions. Consumer and policy analysts are in demand by private, public, and non-profit organizations. The M.S. Non-Thesis in Applied Consumer Analytics will prepare a student to:

- convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports using the latest software
- gather data about consumers, policies, and market conditions using the empirical research process
- analyze data through mathematical models
- inform consumer policy and evaluate the impact of policies on consumer welfare

Admission to Program

In order to take Applied Consumer Analytics graduate courses prior to applying to the graduate program, students who meet the following eligibility requirements should submit documentation thereof to the FHCE Graduate Coordinator:

- Current standing as an undergraduate Human Development and Family Science major
- A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
- On track to have completed at least 60 total credits by the end of the semester for which they seek admission to the dual degree pathway

Admission to Graduate Program

- 3.0 or higher undergraduate GPA (including any graduate courses used to satisfy graduate and undergraduate requirements)
- We require the GMAT or GRE, but this may be waived for students who complete at least 9 hours of graduate coursework with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- We also require 3 letters of recommendation and a Statement of Purpose
