Culinary Science and Nutrition BSFCS/Nutritional Sciences MS(Community Nutrition)(non-thesis)

A Culinary Science and Nutrition degree prepares students for careers with food industry, research, or manufacturing companies in areas such as food production operations, quality assurance and control, and food research and quality development. Those who are interested in becoming certified school nutrition directors can complete most of the course requirements for certification as part of the MS-NT, Community Nutrition.

Admission to Program

By the start of their junior year, students will apply to the pathway. Students will be admitted to the pathway in the spring of their junior year. We propose students will apply to the pathway via an online application along with an unofficial transcript and a signed acknowledgment that they are aware of the criteria for them to be accepted to the graduate program. Acceptance into the pathway is not a guarantee of acceptance into the graduate program.

Students must have completed CHEM 1211/L, CHEM 1212/L with grades of C or better, taken NUTR 2100, and have a 3.5 GPA for admittance to the pathway.

Curriculum

Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.

Any dual-level graduate course appropriate to student's major. A maximum of 12 credit hours may count in the graduate program of study.

Admission to Graduate Program

We are asking them to take the GRE and meet the same requirements as other graduate program applicants (300 GRE 150 V 150 Q, 3.0 minimum GPA, and other requirements as listed on our website).
