Admission to Program
Students may apply to the Double Dawgs pathway once they have completed MATH 2260, STAT 4230, and 30 hours of undergraduate coursework. This will likely be in their second year.
Students who meet the following criteria will be eligible to apply for the pathway:
- Completed 30 hours of coursework towards the undergraduate degree (including AP/IB credits)
- Completed the following courses* with a grade of B (3.0) or higher:
CSCI 1301, MATH 2250, MATH 2260, STAT 2000 (or STAT 2010 or STAT 2100H), STAT 4220, and STAT 4230
*If course requirement was satisfied by AP or IB testing, criteria is not applicable.
Admission to the pathway does not guarantee admission to the graduate program.
Curriculum
Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.
Students may take one of the following two options to satisfy both undergraduate and graduate program requirements.
Option I: Students will take
CSCI 6360, 4 for CSCI 4360, 4
in order to satisfy the required course for the Data Science major.
Then students will choose two of the following 6000-level courses to satisfy two of the Data Science electives.
CSCI 6050, 4
CSCI 6150, 4
CSCI 6210, 4
CSCI 6260, 4
CSCI 6370, 4
CSCI 6380, 4

Option II: Students will take
STAT 6530, 3 for STAT 4530, 3
STAT 6365, 3 for STAT 4365, 3
in order to satisfy required courses for the Data Science major.
Then students will choose two of the following 6000-level courses to satisfy two of the Data Science electives.

Admission to Graduate Program
Admission to the graduate program is competitive. Application for the graduate program is required by December 1st of the last year of the student's undergraduate program.
- Student has made a B (3.0) or better in all Mathematics (MATH), Statistics (STAT), and Computer Science (CSCI) courses.
- Meets one of the three criteria below:
-- A GRE Quantitative score at or above the 75th percentile
-- An ACT Math Score at or above the 80th percentile
-- An SAT Math Score at or above the 80th percentile
