Admission to Program
Students will apply for the pathway in year three. Grady has application cycles for Double Dawgs pathways during every fall and spring semester. Applications will be due on the day of the withdrawal deadline of each semester. Students must have a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for the pathway. Curriculum
Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.
Four graduate courses will be used to satisfy both graduate and undergraduate program requirements:
- JRMC 8000, Proseminar in Mass Communication
- Three additional JOUR/JRLC/JRMC courses
OR
-Four JOUR/JRLC/JRMC courses at the 6000-level or higher.
The graduate courses will count as upper-level general electives for the Music (A.B.) major. Other graduate courses may be taken instead of the choices listed with permission of Grady's Double Dawgs advisor.
Additional requirements that are unique to this Double Dawgs program:
Students will follow the Journalism and Mass Communication M.A. (non-thesis) concentration planning form found on Grady College’s website.
Admission to Graduate Program
In year four, students will formally apply to the Graduate School and also submit supplemental application materials to the Grady Graduate Office. Applications include a form indicating their Journalism and Mass Communication M.A. concentration and a short statement of purpose. Students are also required to provide contact information for three letters of recommendation and a resume or CV. No GRE scores are required for Grady graduate applications.
