Admission to Program
Students will apply for the program as soon as the decision to pursue Double Dawgs has been made. Students can apply as early as their first year. The latest students can apply is October 31 of their third year.
Prospective students are required to submit an additional Double Dawgs application to the New Media Institute. Applications are due annually by October 31. The application opens on the first day of Fall classes and can be found on the New Media Institute’s website, nmi.cool. This is the only time of year prospective Double Dawg applicants will be reviewed and admitted into the pathway. Additionally, students are required to add the pathway on Athena.
Curriculum
Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.
Four NMIX courses on the 6000 or 7000 level (NMIX 6110, NMIX 6111, NMIX 6310, NMIX 7110, NMIX 6200, NMIX 6510) in place of a student's upper-division electives.
Additional requirements that are unique to this Double Dawgs program:
Eight additional courses are required to complete the graduate degree portion of this dual degree program: JRMC 7010, JRMC 7011, JRMC 7012, JRMC 7013, JRMC 7014, JRMC 7015, and 2 electives.
Admission to Graduate Program
Applicants must formally apply to the Graduate School by March 1 of their undergraduate graduation year. The application requires a statement of purpose, three positive recommendation letters, a resume, and unofficial transcripts. At that time, applicants will also submit supplemental application materials to the Grady Graduate Office, which includes a form indicating their desired MA concentration.
