International Affairs AB/Political Science and International Affairs MA(non-thesis)

A M.A. degree in Political Science and International Affairs prepares students for many different career paths, including working in campaigns and elections, international relief, foreign policy, and public affairs. Some M.A. graduates are instructors at the collegiate level. Many M.A. graduates work for governmental agencies and international organizations. The analytical background provided during the M..A also helps students find jobs as statistical consultants and in marketing.

Admission to Program

Students entering the pathway to the dual degree program will need to discuss their options in their second or third years with undergraduate and graduate advisors. Prior to entering the Double Dawgs Program, any student seeking to enroll in a graduate course will need the approval of the instructor of record and the graduate coordinator.

After a student has 60-90 hours in the A.B. program, they will be able to apply to the dual degree (A.B./M.A.) program. We admit M.A. students for fall semester only. Students will begin the application process during their third year to begin the dual degree program in their fourth year.

Students must apply to the dual degree program following the same guidelines and procedures as our traditional graduate students. Admission requirements include a personal statement, a writing sample, GRE scores, and letters of recommendation.
