Admission to Program
After completing 60 hours of undergraduate coursework, students will apply to take four graduate courses prior to formal admission to the M.P.H. program in spring of Year 2.
Students need to have a recommended 3.5 GPA to apply to take graduate courses.
Curriculum
Graduate-level courses that may be used to satisfy undergraduate and graduate program requirements.
• BIOS 7010 (Introduction to Biostatistics I)
• EPID 7010 (Introduction to Epidemiology I)
• EHSC 7010 (Foundations of Environmental Health)
• EHSC 7080 (Advanced Environmental Air Quality) or EHSC 7310 (Public Health Microbiology) . Will vary based on students selected concentration.
Additional requirements that are unique to this Double Dawgs program:
Students are required to fulfill all Environmental Health M.P.H. course requirements, a six-credit M.P.H. Internship (PBHL 7560), and three-credit capstone project (PBHL 7800).
Admission to Graduate Program
Students will formally apply to the M.P.H. program in the fall of Year 4.
After completing 90 credits of undergraduate coursework, students will formally apply to the M.P.H. program.
• Students need to have a recommended 3.0 GPA to apply to the M.P.H. program.
• Students must take the GRE or MCAT no later than fall of Year 4 in order to be considered for admission in the M.P.H. program.
• GRE recommended scores are 50th percentile or above in quantitative, qualitative, and analytic portions of the exam.
• MCAT recommended minimum scores should mirror the average for the state, which is currently 509.
• Students must complete all BIOS, EPID, or EHSC graduate course and fieldwork before they can obtain the M.P.H.
