The professions of Landscape Architecture and Planning are linked in the professional world. Obtaining accredited degrees (and eventually professional licenses) in both disciplines will expand the career options for students who successfully compete the program. Both degrees focus on designing ways to improve everyday life for people as well as ecosystem health at the site and regional scales, but earning both degrees allows students to further engage community process to identify and plan for long range city and regional goals. Career opportunities will multiply within traditional design firms and will expand into public and private firms that incorporate environmental planning into their projects such as government offices, public municipalities, private, and public universities.
