There are more than 1.2 million "charitable" 501c (3) nonprofits in the United States, and studies show that over the next decade, nonprofits will need to attract and develop 640,000 new managers due to the growing number of nonprofit organizations, growth in the size of nonprofits, and the retirement of managers from the vast baby-boomer generation. Nonprofits need leaders who are also trained as social workers to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and communities.
