Students who successfully complete this Double Dawgs program will be eligible for certification in Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12 and hold an advanced degree in Special Education Adapted Curriculum (P-12). As Special Education continues to be a critical shortage area in Georgia, this pathway positions gradates to be teacher leaders in K-12 public schools. Graduates are recommended for a master’s level teaching certificate (T-5), which earns a higher teacher salary in Georgia and indicates that the graduate is prepared to provide evidence-based practices in Special Education as well as to support other faculty in providing appropriate interventions for students with low incidence disabilities.
