Biochemistry and Molecular Biology BS/Public Health MPH(Environmental Health Science)(non-thesis)

Career and Academic Opportunities

The College of Public Health had a 93% placement rate for the class of 2017. While career outcomes vary by concentration, many of our students go on to federal and state agencies as well as non-profit organizations. Roughly 15% go on to advanced degree programs such as medical or doctoral programs. The top graduate schools for our M.P.H. Alumni include medical programs at Augusta University and Mercer University, as well as academic programs at the University of Georgia, University of Florida, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Clemson University. Top employers include Amazon, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emory University, Georgia Department of Public Health, and Johnson & Johnson, to name just a few. It is our expectation that the Double Dawgs program will be a clear step towards careers in the medical field for many of our students from the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program. A few career outcomes that will be new opportunities for our pathway graduates include epidemiologists, environmental health scientists, consultants, and public health initiative coordinators.
