Dietetics BSFCS/Nutritional Sciences MS(Community Nutrition)(non-thesis)

Career and Academic Opportunities

Students can go on to complete the steps to become a registered dietitian. Beginning in 2024, anyone who wishes to take the exam to become an RDN will need to have a master's degree, so earning both degrees will be mandatory in the near future. Dietitians provide food and nutrition care services to individuals and groups. They study a variety of subjects, including food and nutrition sciences, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, food service systems management, culinary arts, statistics, psychology, and communication. In order to become Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists, students must complete a dietetic internship to become eligible to sit for the registration examination for dietitians.
