Career and Academic Opportunities

The College of Public Health had a 93% placement rate for the class of 2017. While career outcomes vary by concentration, many of our students go on to federal and state agencies, as well as non-profit organizations. Roughly 15% go on to advanced degree programs such as medical or doctoral programs. The top graduate schools for our MPH Alumni include medical programs at Augusta University and Mercer University, and academic programs at the University of Georgia, University of Florida, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Clemson University. Top employers include Amazon, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emory University, Georgia Department of Public Health, and Johnson & Johnson, to name just a few. It is our expectation that this Double Dawgs pathway will present opportunities to practice public health as emergency preparedness and disaster response consultants, coordinators of public health initiatives, contractors and agents within various public health institutions, including FEMA, DOD, DPH, HHS, and local and state public health departments.
